Salimpour Format workshops with Nargis
Always wanted to delve more into bellydancing? Ever had the urge to work on your dancer’s foundation? But is a weekly class just not doable for you? Then you should definitely mark these dates on your calander!
In the summer of 2018 Nargis is announced by Suhaila Salimpour herself as the Ambassador for the Salimpour Format in the Netherlands.
Why are we unique?
Nargis is the only bellydance teacher in the Netherlands certified in Salimpour Format.
A place and time where you as a dancer can work on building technique, strong body and kinesthetic quality to build a solid foundation.
Our workshops are based upon Salimpour Format divided in the Suhaila- and the Jamila Format.
Workshops are open to all levels in bellydancing. That means that it is a multi-level workshop with beginning and more advanced dancers training together.
Limited access of 15 dancers per workshop to guarantee quality.
This format training will turn you into a complete dancer, irrespective of dancing style and experience. So classical, modern and also cross-over. In Suhaila Format your body will be disconnected and rebuild again in such a way that your body will be able to execute footwork, hipwork, upperbody work all independently from one another at the same time. Hence the name disconnect to reconnect!
Jamila Salimpour began teaching belly dance in 1949 and was the first to structure movements and dance steps in belly dance. Her format is giving an outline of the basic step families with classical Egyptian stylization. Her method of playing finger cymbals includes over 44 patterns.
In 1968, Jamila’s Bal Anat first debuted at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire featuring folkloric and fantasy dancers displaying authentic roots and hokum. Jamila’s dance format technique and Bal Anat presentation began the tribal movement and stylization.
This format is also known as “vintage belly dance”.
For a full benefit of Jamila Format it is optional to bring your Zills to the workshop if you are able to play them. Because, besides a dancer you will be transformed into a musician! Knowing what you can do with your zills will boost your self-esteem during a performance and will make your dance complete.
